Joke: “How long before I can get a haircut”
A guy stuck his head into a barber shop and asked: "How long before I can get a haircut?".
The barber looked around the shop full of customers and said: "About 2 hours." The guy left.
A few days later the same guy stuck his head in the door and asked: "How long before I can get a haircut?". The barber looked around at the shop and said: "About 3 hours." The guy left.

A week later the same guy stuck his head in the shop and asked: "How long before I can get a haircut?" The barber looked around the shop and said: "About an hour only." The guy left.
The barber looked around the shop and said: "About an hour only."
The barber turned to a friend and said: "Hey, Bill, do me a favour. Follow that guy and see where he goes. He keeps asking how long he has to wait for a haircut, but then he doesn't ever come back".

A little while later, Bill returned to the shop, laughing hysterically. The barber asked: "So where does that guy go when he leaves?" Bill looked up, tears in his eyes and said: "To your girlfriend!"

Intro: We are continuing our sermon series, “Schedule an eye exam”.
It’s one of those hard things to do because you don’t want to feel like your getting old.
In order to clear my vision up, I must go into see the eye doctor face to face.
I cannot be diagnosed with any type of eye condition, if I don’t take the time and schedule a face to face with the eye doctor.
And many of us today feel like there is nothing wrong with our vision, because we have not taken the time to get face to face with the almighty GOD.
Sermon Title:
#320 "Face to Face"
Ephesians 3:14 ESV
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
We need to schedule a time to bow our knees before the Heavenly Father...
I will be the first to admit, that I am with you when “I say it is easy to get engulfed in life and feel like theres not enough hours in the day.”
But without getting clarity, I will never see what He has in store for my life.
I will only continue to see what it is I’m going through.
Ephesians 3:15 ESV
from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
We are all one family, we are all to be called Christians...
We are all to be Christlike
No matter what we look like or where we’ve come from, we are of the family of Jesus Christ.
But heres the thing with that though, if we don’t take the time to bow before Him and have a face to face with Him, we begin to form our own opinions and see things the way we want to see them.
So we go from being a family thats one minded to a world thats divided.
Ephesians 3:16 ESV
that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
Eph. 3.15
But listen Paul here in the scriptures knows its not going to be easy to remain Christlike or to stay focused on Christ so he prays for strength for the Ephesians.
Ephesians 3:17 ESV
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
Paul is encouraging the beleivers to make sure it is Christ who dwells in their heart.
If you are rooted and grounded in Love, that means no matter what comes at you or what tries to remove you, because of your love for God your rooted into the foundation.
Devil you can send me things...
Devil you can try and blur my vision, but the bottom line is that I’m rooted in the things of God.
So no matter how
John 14:23 ESV
Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
If we have a love for Christ, and keep His word, then He dwells in our heart.
Dwell uses the ancient Greek word for a permanent home.
Jesus wants to settle down in your heart, not just visit as a stranger.
Ephesians 3:18 ESV
may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
Gods love has diemensions...
So he prays that the Ephesians have the strength to comprehend the diemensions of His love.
To come to any understanding of the dimensions of God’s love, we must come to the cross. The cross pointed in four ways, essentially in every direction, because …
• God’s love is wide enough to include every person.
• God’s love is long enough to last through all eternity.
• God’s love is deep enough to reach the worst sinner.
• God’s love is high enough to take us to heaven.
Ephesians 3:19 ESV
and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:20 ESV
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,
Ephesians 3:21 ESV
to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Closing:
1 John 1:9 ESV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
